Can you believe it’s already August inPlymouth County? Wow, did this summer fly by! But, as I always say, August does not mean that summer is over. It means that summer isalmost over. It’s time to kick into gear and get all your Plymouth, MA summer activities in before it’s too late!

You have until Aug. 12 to visit the Summer Fine Craft Show at the Plymouth Center for the Arts in Plymouth, MA! You can browse through jewelry, pottery and fabric art, along with more unique types, like soft sculpted puppets and “found wood” walking sticks. All of the art is made by localPlymouth County artists, so this is a great way to support your community! The show is free to visit.

Break up your work week by attending Project Arts of Plymouth Summer Concert Series every Wednesday evening in August! Head to Pilgrim Memorial Park on the Plymouth, MA waterfront and listen to a different musician or band perform each week while watching sunsets and catching up with friends. This is a great way to enjoy warm summer nights before it’s too late!

August is your last chance to catch one of the performances in the Plimoth Plantation Summer Shakespeare Series! On Wednesday and Friday nights, enjoy a performance of the historically famous “Hamlet.” Then on Thursday and Saturday nights, head to Plimoth Plantation to see “The Taming of the Shrew” performed. Watching these plays take place in the great hall of a 17th-century English manor just makes them that much better!

Summer produce is in full swing during the month of August, so don’t forget to stop by thePlymouth Harbor Market Days! These are held every Thursday from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Not only can you purchase a variety of fresh produce and baked goods from local farmers and vendors, but you get to enjoy a fresh ocean breeze the whole time! These markets take place at Stephens Field in Plymouth, MA.

Summer is the perfect time to tour the historic landmarks in Plymouth County! For example, tours are offered at the Hedge House Museum Wednesday through Sunday from June through August. Choose either 2 p.m. or 6 p.m. to travel through the 1809 restored waterfront mansion that displays unusual octagon rooms. This tour only costs $5 for adults and $2 for children, but it’s free for Plymouth, MA residents!
