Father’s Day is quickly approaching this weekend in Plymouth, MA, even though it feels like we were just discussing Mother’s Day activities! Time flies, so don’t let this weekend fly by without showing dad how much you care. As your South of Boston real estate agent, I’m here to help you plan!
While many dads are happy with a relaxing barbecue in the backyard, or a day playing golf, other dads would appreciate a special event or a unique experience. For those dads, here are some ideas around the Plymouth County area:
- Get dad out of the house and into nature! Take him to Pinewood Lodge Campground for some bass fishing, swimming, boating and camping! The lodge has gift cards available if you can’t make it this weekend. If you’ve never been, let dad know the campground includes 300 shaded campsites on a 50-acre fresh water lake. If you just want to hang out for the day, the lodge also has activities to partake in, including bingo on Friday night and an air hockey tournament, a pool tournament and an animal exhibit on Saturday!
- Calling all running dads! There is a virtual Father’s Day run in Plymouth, MA on Father’s Day, beginning at 9 a.m. Basically, you sign up and receive a t-shirt, a bib number and more. Then you run your own favorite route through Plymouth County and post on the website about it afterward! All over the country, dads are virtually gathering for this event. Make Plymouthproud!
- The Plimouth Plantation always has a slew of activities going on, and Father’s Day is no exception! This weekend is also the anniversary of the arrival of Mayflower II to Plymouth Harbor 55 years ago! You can come aboard and speak with 17th century and 1957 role players. Other activities include watching the goodwives make food, creating a ship chart and so much more!
- Enjoy a Pilgrim Belle Harbor Cruise for Father’s Day! That way, you get to enjoy a good meal and gorgeous views of historic Plymouth Harbor. From 10:30 a.m. to noon on Sunday, fathers get to enjoy cruises for half off! Call 508-747-3434 to reserve a spot because space is limited and these cruises book up fast.
